Welcome to Mediolanum,
Mediolanum, the ancient city where Milan now stands, was originally an Insubrian city, but afterwards became an important Roman city in Northern Italy.
The city was settled by a Celtic tribe belonging to the Insubres group and belonging to the Golasecca culture under the name Medhelanon around 590 BC, conquered by the Romans in 222 BC, who Latinized the name of the city into Mediolanum, and developed into a key centre of Western Christianity and informal capital of the Western Roman Empire.
It declined under the ravages of the Gothic War, its capture by the Lombards in 569, and their decision to make Ticinum the capital of their Kingdom of Italy.
During the Principate the population was 40,000 in AD 200; when the city became capital of the Western Roman Empire under emperor Maximian (r. 286–305), the population rose to 100,000 people and thus Milan became one of the largest cities in Roman Italy.

Medoilanum in Second Life has found its start beginning 2026.
Me, Roca Skydancer as my name is in Second Life, started the idea with 1/3 of a sim which contained my house and a few objects left and right.
After several weks a new part on the sim i was renting of, was freed and i added it to my exsisting parcel.
This createed new parts and gave me the chance to go more into detail and different structures.
Pretty soon the last part of the sim came availible and i added it to form a complete sim now as we know it now.
The city contains several buildings and several houses which can be "rented" eventhough i do not ask any rent, the only thing i ask is when you "rent "a house that you actively take part in the RPG we play in the city.
For further information or maybe a tour through the city, please contact : Roca.Skydancer.
